FAQs

How much does a headshot session cost?

Because every client’s needs are so unique it’s best to book a quick 15-minute chat to discuss what will work for you here.

What should I wear?

When it comes to choosing what to wear for your headshot session, there are a few things to consider. First and foremost, you want to wear something that makes you feel comfortable and confident.

It's important to avoid clothing that is too distracting or trendy, as it can take away from the focus of the headshot - which is you. Solid colors or simple patterns are often a good choice.

Additionally, you want to think about what the headshot will be used for. If it's for a corporate setting, you may want to dress more formally in a suit or dress. If it's for a more creative field, you may have more flexibility to show your personality through your clothing choices.

Overall, the most important thing is to choose something that makes you feel good and reflects your personal style. If you're unsure, don't hesitate to ask your photographer for guidance.

Other quick pointers to follow:

  • Clothes that fit well, too tight or too big are unflattering.

  • Leave the blue jeans at home. Black jeans are fine.

  • No solid primary colours ie. red, green, or blue. However dark red, or dark blue is fine.

  • No luminescent colours

  • No plain white shirts on their own, ie the woolies work shirt.

  • No red ties aka Donald Trump ties.

  • Avoid Tshirts with print

  • No sports shirts

  • Neutral colours are best

  • Layering is great

Can I choose my final images?

Yes. After the shoot, we will narrow down the images to what I think is suitable and above standard. We then send you an online gallery where you will be able to choose your favourites. You are always able to purchase additional images.

How do I receive my final images?

Once you’ve made your selection via the online gallery, depending on how many images you take, it could take from 2-5 days to finish the retouching. After we’ve completed them we upload them to Google Drive where you can download them.

I’ve never done this before, I don’t know how to be in front of the camera.

I will guide you through every step of the process. I will look for the right angles and composition. I will go through various poses. At the end of the day, I’m here to photograph you so you just need to be yourself.

Is a makeup artist / Hair stylist necessary?

The simple answer is no. We can still achieve great portraits for you by managing them without their services. However, there is a remarkable difference between having a specialist in makeup and hair at the shoot. We have a pool of outstanding stylists who work with us that we can refer to you. They work on-site at the studio. You have the option for them to stay on-site for touch-ups or they can finish up and go. I do recommend that they stay the whole shoot.

Anything else I can do to ensure a successful photoshoot?

The single most important thing to bring to the headshot session is confidence, your relaxed self, and the willingness to experiment. If you have any particular sensitivities we will certainly discuss those (i.e. if you are self-conscious about a particular facial feature) and I will do my best to take those considerations into account.

On the other hand, it’s important to trust your photographer and trust yourself. Try your best to leave “the self” at the door.
